PETERSEN EVENTS CENTER:

Parking (see map below)

Graduates and their families can park in the OC parking lot (3537 Allequippa Street) which is located on the left past the Trees Pool Facility on Allequippa Street. Parking is $10. CASH ONLY.

Accessible Seating and Elevators

Accessible seating is available on all levels at the Petersen Events Center as shown on the map. These specific locations are designed to accommodate persons using a wheelchair, and may be used by disabled guests (and a limited number of companions) who require the specific features of accessible seating due to a disability. Guests may be asked to verify that an accessible seat is required. Additionally, the Petersen Events Center has a number of designated aisle seats with retractable or removable armrests.

Guests with disabilities may use elevators through the Petersen Events Center. Please see the map for the locations of these elevators.

Accessible Parking (see map below)

The Biomedical Science Tower (BST) garage is the closest accessible parking garage to the Petersen Events Center. The BST garage accessible entrance is diagonal to the front of the building on Terrace Street. A valid placard or license plate is required to park in the accessible spaces in this garage. All guests are encouraged to arrive early in an attempt to secure parking that best accommodates their needs. In this lot, you pay by the hour.

Drop-Off Points (see map below)

Accessible drop-off and pick up for guests attending events at the Petersen Events Center should be made at either the front of the building on Terrace Street or at the intersection of Aliquippa Street and Sutherland Drive on the back side of the building as shown on the map. Please contact Petersen Events Center Guest Services at 412-648-3078 or e-mail pechelp@pitt.edu for additional information regarding assistance at either one of these drop-off points.

The Lobby entrance off Terrace Street is ADA accessible as shown on the map.

Restrooms (see map below)

There are 38 restrooms located throughout the Petersen Events Center on all floors as shown on the map. All restrooms are ADA accessible and have accessible stalls. Additionally, family restrooms are located on the Concourse Level behind Section 117 and on the Club Level behind Section 110.

DIRECTIONS TO THE PETERSEN EVENTS CENTER

From Pittsburgh International Airport - OC LOT $10 per vehicle (CASH ONLY)

• Take I-279 toward Pittsburgh. Pass through the Fort Pitt Tunnel, stay to the right, and bear right at the first ramp over the bridge onto I-376.
• Exit I-376 at the Oakland/Forbes Avenue Exit.
• Turn left at the third light (McKee Place).
• Proceed straight through next two lights.
• You are now on Darragh Street. Proceed up the hill to the stop light at Allequippa Street and make a right. The OC Parking Lot is on the left past Trees Pool.

From the Pennsylvania Turnpike - OC Lot $10 per vehicle (CASH ONLY)

• Take the Pittsburgh/Monroeville Exit (Exit 57). Follow I-376 toward Pittsburgh.
• Take the Oakland Exit 3B. Proceed up the hill through the first traffic light.
• Make the second left after the light onto McKee Place.
• Continue straight through two traffic lights, up the hill. You are now on Darragh Street.
• Proceed up the hill to the stop light at Allequippa Street and make a right. The OC Parking Lot is on the left past Trees Pool. Once you park, proceed down the hill to the Petersen Events Center.

From the North - OC Lot $10 per vehicle (CASH ONLY)
• Take I-79 South to I-279 South to I-579 (Veterans Bridge.)
• Exit at the Boulevard of the Allies (Exit 14) toward Monroeville/Oakland.
• Turn left onto Halket Street beside Magee Hospital.
• Turn right onto Forbes Avenue.
• Take the first left onto McKee Place.
• Continue straight through two traffic lights, up the hill. You are now on Darragh Street.
• Proceed up the hill to the stop light at Allequippa Street and make a right. The OC Parking Lot is on the left past Trees Pool. Once you park, proceed down the hill to the Petersen Events Center.

From the South – OC Lot $10 per vehicle (CASH ONLY)

• Take I-79 North to I-279 North towards Pittsburgh.
• Pass through the Fort Pitt Tunnel, stay to the right, and bear right at the first ramp over the bridge onto I-376.
• Exit I-376 at the Oakland/Forbes Avenue Exit.
• Turn left at the third light (McKee Place).

Carnegie Mellon Ceremony

Ceremony: 11 a.m.
Gesling Stadium on the Carnegie Mellon campus.
No tickets are required and the ceremony takes place rain or shine.
