Information:
Limited to MPM students in the Educational Leadership concentration.

Description:
The purpose of this course is to teach students about the various aspects of school law. The course will cover school law on the federal, state and local level. The course content will include rules governing special education and a variety of student management and personal issues. Also included will be some of the legal issues involving employee negotiations and capital improvements. The class process will focus on the active participation of the students and address current school legal issues and how those issues apply to the student's district. Materials that the students will need for the course include the Pennsylvania School Code, BEC's, their district's policy manual, and collective bargaining agreements. Papers and examinations are required.
