MSPPM Advanced Coursework Requirements
Students are required to take each of the following: Advanced Policy courses (12 units), Advanced Methods courses (18 units), and a Capstone Course (12 units) that provide an appreciation of how policy plays out in the real world. Each semester a wide range of courses are offered to satisfy each of these requirements.
The Spring semester courses listed below are generally offered in the spring semester, however, students should check the schedule to verify the courses will be offered during the following Spring semester.
Advanced Policy Topics (12 units)
Advanced Policy Topics courses are designed to provide you with an opportunity to explore the substantive aspects of policy making within the context of several policy areas.

Advanced Methods Courses (18 units)
Advanced Methods courses deepen your understanding of both the tools and topics of policy analysis and management. Many of these courses count toward your concentration area.

Capstone Course (12 units)
Students are required to take one 12 unit capstone course that integrates material from the required curriculum and provides an opportunity to learn how policy plays out in the real world.
