Eileen Meddis has more than 20 years of experience in Human Resource Management in the nonprofit, arts management sector, working as an attorney, compensation manager, human resources director, and teacher. She recently retired as the Director of Corporate Human Resources for the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. Currently, she is an HR consultant based in Pittsburgh, PA with expertise in employee relations, employee management, and employment law.
In her consulting practice, Eileen assists employers in the development and implementation of human resource strategies, structures, and tools to support their strategic objectives. Further, she provides ongoing consultative support for in-house human resource staff members in the areas of recruiting, compensation and benefits, legal compliance, training, and coaching.
Eileen has served as Vice President of the board of directors and as chair of the Personnel Committee for Sisters Place, a supportive housing community which assists homeless, single-parent families in Southwestern Pennsylvania attain self-sufficiency by providing housing and supportive services. She has also served on the Business Advisory Committee of Pittsburgh Vision Services.
Eileen earned a B.A. summa cum laude in History from the University of Pittsburgh College of Arts and Sciences and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Society for Human Resources Management.
