Biography

Writer/director Mark Christopher's debut feature film, 54, starred Ryan Phillippe, Mike Myers, Mark Ruffalo and Salma Hayek. Additionally, he produced the hit double CD soundtrack and its number one single “If You Could Read My Mind.” He is in post-production with Miramax on the 54 DIRECTOR’S CUT to be released in 2015. Christopher's festival comedy hit PIZZA (IFC/InDigEnt) won an Independent Spirit Award.

In addition to directing and writing for film, Christopher is currently writing the one-hour drama BERLIN for Warner-Horizon, the limited series CLEOPATRA VII for Sonar Entertainment, and has written one-hour comedy and drama pilots for CBS, Spelling, Fox and Logo/MTV. He created and exec produced last year's REAL LIFE: THE MUSICAL for OWN/ITV.

Christopher's award-winning short films have been screened at all major international film festivals, including Sundance, Toronto, New York, Tokyo and Berlin. They were theatrically distributed by Strand Releasing and the BFI among others, and have screened at MoMA.

Christopher speaks fluent Portuguese and guest teaches advanced filmmaking courses at Columbia University and for Carnegie Mellon’s Master of Entertainment Industry Management Program.
