Internships
Heinz College students are interested in making an impact on the world and within the organizations where they work. Their Heinz College experience gives them the opportunity to explore various fields and sectors through a variety of hands on learning opportunities, including an internship experience. This hands-on learning elevates the Heinz College above many other policy colleges, by encouraging students to apply the skills learned in the classroom to real-life organizations and problems.
Offering Internships positions will:
· Promote your organisation as one that invests in tomorrow by providing opportunities today,
· Enable you to initiate and/or complete special and innovative projects or high level analysis,
· Highlight your organisation as a genuine career opportunity for our students,
· Act as a recruitment source allowing you to observe the qualities of our graduates and particular individuals for future employment opportunities,
· Promote and encourage innovation amongst your staff.
Our students are visionary, innovative and have excellent problem solving and analytical skills. You may choose to take advantage of this by submitting a problem or situation to interested students and select the intern partially based on their response to the problem or situation and the benefits that it could have for your organisation.
Students conducting compulsory internships will usually complete them in the 3rd Semester of their first year, usually from May to August or September to December for a minimum of 10 weeks full-time.
Students doing optional internships will usually undertake them during December/January.
