2011-2012 Academic Calendar (Adelaide, Australia)

The Heinz College Australia calendar is consistent with Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh Calendar. The programs are structured to enable students to commence in both the Fall (August) and Spring (January) semesters. This allows us to bridge both the northern hemisphere academic calendar and the Australian academic calendar.

Heinz College Australia operates on a three semester basis similar to Heinz College in Pittsburgh. The semesters are 15 weeks in duration. Depending on the commencement date, students can complete three semester programs over a period of 12-13 months. Five semester programs are completed over a period of 21-22 months.

Students have a one week break between the January and May, and the May and August semesters. Between the August and January semesters, students enjoy 7-8 week break that accommodates the Australian festive season, allowing them travel around Australia or return home for the holiday.

The College offers a comprehensive three week Introductory Academic Program to international students prior to the Fall (August) and Spring (January) semesters.
