Course Commencement Dates and Duration
The Heinz College Australia calendar bridges both northern hemisphere academic calendars (to help attract students and facilitate Heinz faculty exchange) and the typical Australian calendar (to advance partnerships with Australian schools). The current calendar allows for semesters of approximately equal lengths. Semester dates are as follows:
- January – May
- May – August
- August – December
There is one week off between the January and May and May and August semesters.
There is approximately 7 weeks off between the August and January semesters (from December through January) to accommodate traditional Australian holidays.
