It will guide you through how to configure your laptop for use on the wireless network, connecting your laptop for use from home and installing various software that might be needed. If you have any further questions please contact the IT Services by emailing ICThelp@cmu.edu.au
Prerequisites:
To use this support you will need a laptop running either Windows XP or Windows Vista operating systems with administrator privilege.
Check your wireless card:
To start with you will need to check what sort of wireless card your laptop has.
- Right click on My Computer > Properties.
- Click the Hardware tab and choose Device Manager
- Check your network Adapters.
If your wireless adapter is an Intel 4965AGN, 3945ABG, 2200BG, 2915ABG or 2100 adapter we recommend using the Intel Client. For users of other wireless adapters please use the windows default connection. You can get the install from the IT Services.
