Exhibitions Management

Units: 6

This course concentrates on all elements of exhibition design, planning and implementation. Scheduling, budgeting, for-profit galleries and art auctions will be covered through the use of exercises, readings and guest speakers. Special topics include art criticism, talent evaluation, contracts, shipping/crating, installation, juried exhibitions/call for artists, openings and receptions, sales and commissions, tour technology and working with visual artists.

The course will utilize a series of readings and student response devices, field work as well as a final project.
