Globalization and International Trade

There are many dimensions to what we call "globalization". This mini class will explore the economic aspects of the increased interconnections among nations through trade in goods, services, and factors of production. Topics include the basic economic models of trade, migration and foreign direct investment, the distribution of gains and losses from trade, outsourcing, protectionism, and the role of multilateral trade agreements.

Prerequisite: 90-711 or other introductory course in microeconomics.
