Exemption and Credit Transfer
Students are strongly encouraged to apply for exemption of a core course if they have already acquired all or most of the skills taught in that course. Exemptions do not reduce the total number of units required to graduate but do allow a student to take more elective coursework. Students should see the course instructor, who will assess the skills in the subject and determine whether the course may be exempted.
Additionally, you may be able to receive credit for up to 24 units (equivalent of two full-semester length classes) of graduate level classes taken at another University. The classes must be relevant to the degree program, a grade of at least a B must have been attained in the class. The student must request a credit transfer at the time of admission.
Contact the Director of Programs to discuss credit transfer options.
