Professional Experience

Mr. Gallagher is founder and principal of The Competitive Edge, a Human Resource and Management consulting firm delivering a comprehensive array of HR services to a broad spectrum of for profit and non-profit organizations.

For over 25 years prior to establishing The Competitive Edge, Mr. Gallagher held key Human Resource management positions in leading regional, national and international organizations including Dravo Corporation, The Kohler Company, Pennex Products Company and Three Rivers Aluminum Company. Al's professional experience includes manufacturing engineering and human resource management in diverse industries and organizations including heavy manufacturing, retailing, banking, commercial construction, building products, public relations, federal judicial system and medical services.

Community/Public Impact

In addition to activities directly related to career development and marketing efforts, Mr. Gallagher is involved with a variety of voluntary organizations committed to the arts and the encouragement of women, minorities and others' success in commercial ventures.

Education

Mr. Gallagher earned a MA in Labor Relations from St. Francis University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Duquesne University. He has completed numerous additional programs to remain current in his discipline and retain his SHRM Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification.

Mr. Gallagher currently teaches in the graduate program of St. Francis University and has taught graduate and undergraduate Human Resource Management courses at Duquesne University, LaRoche College and Butler Community College.
