Professional Experience
Dr. Dimperio has over 30 years of experience as a teacher, principal and superintendent of local area schools. For the past seven years he has served as the superintendent of schools of the West Mifflin Area School District. Under Dr. Dimperio's direction at West Mifflin, several new programs have been initiated including the "Career and Academic Passport Program"; foreign language programs via satellite; peer mediation, tutoring and counseling programs, and site-based management teams. In addition, Dr. Dimperio currently works as a consultant for various private schools, public schools, state intermediate units and the Pennsylvania School Board Association. Dr. Dimperio has published numerous award-winning articles and has also received national recognition from the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association and the National School Public Relations Association for various workshop presentations. In 1996, Duquesne University's School of Education recognized Dr. Dimperio as one of the region's leading educators.
Education
Dr. Dimperio received his Bachelor of Arts from the Franciscan University, his Master of Education and Doctorate of Education from the University of Pittsburgh and his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University. He is a member of the American Association of School Administrators, the National School Board Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association. He has previously taught classes at the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, California University of Pennsylvania and Carnegie Mellon.
