Jeffrey A. Cooper, MD is a physician and administrator. He is Deputy Director of the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs and Clinical Professor of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Previously he was Interim Chair of Radiology and an Associate Medical Director at Albany Medical Center.

Dr. Cooper received his undergraduate training at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and obtained his medical degree from Albany Medical College, and a Masters in Medical Management from H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University. He trained in pediatrics at the University of Iowa and trained in nuclear medicine at Albany Medical Center. He is board certified in pediatrics, nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology. After completion of his post-graduate training, Dr. Cooper trained in pulmonary physiology under a National Research Service Award and has been active in basic science and clinical research.

Dr. Cooper has been active in computers and mathematics since first learning number theory and computer programming in 8th grade. He has used his expertise in programming to set up a multi-state teleradiology network for the interpretation of nuclear imaging studies. Dr. Cooper is the programmer of the Windows version of GAMLS, a visualization and clustering program for the oil exploration industry marketed by Eric Geoscience, Inc.
