Professional Experience
Ms. Phillips is president of Saybrook, a consulting group specializing in work with nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining Saybrook, she was vice president, Home and Community Services for the Jewish Association on Aging from 1994-1997 and worked for almost eight years in Pittsburgh area foundations. From February 1987 until January 1989, she served as a program officer in the areas of health and aging for The Pittsburgh Foundation and the Heinz Endowments. From January 1989 until December 1991, she worked as the Planning and Evaluation officer at those foundations. In January 1992, Ms. Phillips joined the staff of the newly formed Jewish Healthcare Foundation of Pittsburgh, where she served as director of the AIDS Action Plan, a regional planning effort related to the HIV epidemic in southwestern Pennsylvania, and as senior program officer. Prior to 1987, Ms. Phillips' career included work as a health policy analyst, speech-language pathologist, agency director and consultant to non-profit organizations in the areas of financial management and planning, marketing, strategic planning and resource development.
Community/Public Impact
Ms. Phillips is a board member and president of Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers; a board member of Metro Family Practice, Inc.; a steering committee member of the Community-University Partnership for Successful Aging of the Southwestern PA Partnership on Aging; co-chair of the American Society on Aging Summer Series; a past board member of the Pittsburgh Voyager, a math and science educational project; past president of the Southwestern Pennsylvania AIDS Planning Coalition; past member of the Pennsylvania HIV Planning Council, the Allegheny County Alliance on Aging, and several other local and regional boards and committees.
Education
Ms. Phillips has bachelor's and master's degrees in speech pathology from the University of Michigan and a master's in management from Northwestern University.
