Professional Experience

Rosanne Clementi Saunders is founder and owner of an independent human resources consulting practice. Its mission is to advance the performance of client organizations through proven human resource interventions, with a focus on preventive strategies and leadership development. Her consulting practice specializes in human resource strategic assessments, projects that align human resource initiatives with organizational strategies and training. Her professional background includes 18 years of senior management experience. Her clients include professional organizations, healthcare, nonprofit, biotechnology and financial institutions.

Her most recent position was Vice President of Human Resources at Heritage Valley Health System, one of the 25 largest employers in Western Pennsylvania. Her responsibilities at Heritage Valley involved the successful integration of human resource functions in a merged organization. Her leadership and innovation in human resource practices at Sewickley Valley Hospital led to its designation by the Saratoga Institute as 'best-in-class' nationally for employee retention. In making the designation, Saratoga Institute found that the hospital had "senior managers who realize and act as though their most valuable resource truly is people."

Ms. Saunders is an adjunct faculty member at the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management, teaching courses in Legal Issues in Human Resources Management and Human Resources Management. She writes a regular column called HRClarity for the Journal of Occupational Health Professionals in Healthcare and is a frequent speaker to local and national audiences on human resource issues, including healthcare workforce, end of life issues in the workplace, employee selection and workplace integrity.

Community/Public Impact

Her community interests include active involvement at Holy Family Institute, where she has served as a board member and officer and Sisters Place, where she currently serves on the Development Committee. She has also volunteered her time as a committee member and judge for the People Do Matter awards program and as an advisor at the Health Careers Factory. In 2002, she formed the Western Pennsylvania chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management Consultants Forum.

Education

Rosanne Saunders received her Juris Doctor degree from the Duquesne University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Communications from Point Park College. She is a member of Leadership Pittsburgh Class VXIII. She also holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Society of Human Resources Management.
