The Heinz School matches funds donated by faculty, staff and students. The total amount of scholarships available is based on fund-raising success. This year's goal is $30,000 and is expected to fund approximately fifteen 7-week internships, all of them in the public and non-profit sectors and many of them with international organizations.
IOF internships in past years have included placements at the Children's Defense Fund in Washington, DC; the Minnesota Civil Liberties Union in St. Paul, MN; The Sex Assault and Family Crisis Unit in Pittsburgh, PA; the Life in Africa Foundation in Uganda; the United Nations in New York; UNICEF/UN in Madrid; UNESCO in Paris; and the Hellenic Foundation in Athens; to name just a few.
