Mock Interviews  

Karen Litzinger

Five to six times per year, Heinz Career Services invites Karen Litzinger to conduct on-site mock interviews with Heinz School students. Karen Litzinger is the owner of Litzinger Career Consulting and has over twenty years of career coaching experience. She is a National Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, and a Certified Global Career Development Facilitator.

Career Services Staff

Martin Black, Jackie Speedy, Gerald Tang, Will Wermuth or Kurt Sterling will gladly schedule a mock interview with you to help you prepare for a specific, pending job interview.

What are the benefits of a mock interview?

Perfect Interview Software

Perfect Interview creates a compelling and realistic "simulated interview" experience.

  • It is an easy to follow computer program that covers what a real world interview will be like
  • An interviewer will ask challenging questions that you would get in a real job interview and it will prompt you for a response
  • This program is interactive because you will record your response and re-play it back to critique your response and then you can choose to hear feedback by an interview coach
  • Perfect Interview is perfect for the busy student who doesn’t have time to dress-up and schedule a mock interview. It works around your schedule and it’s simple to follow

Perfect Interview Instructions:

  1. All new users must register a user name and password, this allows you to save your interview so you can go back to it if you cannot complete it or review it again at a later time
  2. On the homepage, just click on the link that says new user and follow the simple step-by-step directions to get started with the interview
  3. Once you’ve completed these steps you will be given options on the length and type of questions you want the interviewer to ask
  4. Choose either short/medium/long interview depending on how much time you want to spend and click the pre-selected questions by the interviewer or you can have the option of catering the questions to areas you feel you need to work on more
  5. The program allows you to record yourself with the computer camera so you can play back and watch your response.
  6. Click on the next button to move on to another question
  7. Click on the respond button to answer a question and click on the record button to record your response via the camera
  8. For assistance on answering a question, you can either click on view alternative response given by an interviewee or you can click on coach assistance given by a professional interviewer.
  9. The Perfect Interview program allows you to set your own pace and build up your confidence in the interview process. Have fun with it and use it as many times as needed to ensure your success at the next interview
  10. Log out when finished and to start another interview, please log in with your user name and password
