Alumni Mentor and Career Network Programs

Heinz School Mentor Program

Tap into the expertise and perspectives of Heinz School alumni by participating in the Mentor Program. In a survey of Fortune 500 companies, 96% of executives credited mentoring as an important developmental tool, and 75% of them said mentoring played a key role in their career success. Students who participate in this program gain access to a unique network of professionals with whom they share the Heinz School experience, as well as career interests and goals. Alumni mentors are an invaluable source of wisdom on topics such as career path, resumes, course selection, international perspectives and work/family issues.

The Alumni Mentor program matches Heinz School graduates with current students based on career interests and goals. Mentors provide information and advice related to career and professional development and can serve as valuable contacts both now and in the future. See your career counselor for information about obtaining an alumni mentor.

How the Mentor Program Works

Students select alumni mentors based on their own personal priorities. The Mentor Program Guidelines provide a framework for the mentoring relationship, but its nature and scope are up to the participants. You will receive information regarding possible mentors. Once you select your mentor, it is up to you to initiate the mentoring process.

The Mentorship Program Administrator will be happy to provide additional information.
