Career Resources
The Heinz School subscribes to CareerSearch, a useful database for identifying and researching employer organizations. It is a powerful online employment research tool with a database of more than a million employers from every major sector of the business and academic worlds. You may access this database from one of the computers in the Resource Room.
On-line Apartment Guide - Represents apartments in the U.S., Canada and overseas.
The Salary Calculator - Compare the cost of living in hundreds of U.S. and International cities.
Wet Feet Press - The Insider Series offers a portfolio of innovative and comprehensive reports on specific companies and industries designed to help job seekers in their company research and job interview preparation. The Heinz School is a subscriber to the Information Partnership Program, which entitles students to a $10 discount on each of the reports. Final cost of each report is $15. Some of Wet Feet's "Insider Guides" are available in the Resource Room.
Classified Advertisements
CareerPath - Search newspaper employment ads from one hundred major cities including The Boston Globe, Baltimore Sun, Chicago Tribune, The New York Times and The Washington Post.
General Job Listings
CareerMosaic - Primarily about technology firms, but also includes job openings in the public sector, the health care industry and in multimedia companies. The site also provides international job search capability.
CareerWEB - Numerous job listings in all fields as well as career advice. Allows on-line access to current job search articles in The National Business Employment Weekly.
Cool Works - Cool and unusual places to work in the United States.
MonsterTRAK - Targeted job listings for college students and alumni. Allows employers to post their job listing at multiple colleges. In partnership with over 1000 college and university career centers, including Carnegie Mellon. A password is needed to access this site.
Job Web - For students, recent graduates and experienced professionals, this site is owned and maintained by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, a not-for-profit professional association. Contains links to employers in business, government and nonprofit sectors. Full-time and internship opportunities. Limited job postings for international students in the U.S.
Monster Board - For locating over 55,000 job opportunities in all functional areas worldwide. One of the most comprehensive and frequently-used on-line job search resources.
Student Central - An on-line career services network that helps college, graduate school and professional school students find job opportunities.
YAHOO! Jobs - Identifies numerous job resources.
