Heinz School Commencement Schedule
For MSPPM, MAM, MEIM, MSISPM, MSETM, MPM, MSHCPM, MMM, MSBTM, and PhD Students
Wednesday-Friday, May 14-16 – pick up your cap/gown/hood – make sure hood color is peacock. You will be asked for a deposit, payable with Visa or Master Card only.

McKenna/Peter/Wright Room, University Center
Wednesday, May 14: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Thursday, May 15: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Friday, May 16: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday, May 17: 7 a.m. - 3 p.m., 6 - 8 p.m.
Sunday, May 18: 7 a.m. - 11 a.m.
You *must* have this to participate in the ceremonies. If you have not ordered, go to the distribution center as early as possible on May 14 and see if you can get regalia, or see Carol Miller on Friday afternoon, room 1104 HBH. There is a $125 deposit for a master’s hood, $135 for a PhD hood – your deposit is returned when the hood is returned.
Saturday, May 17 (optional) MISM/MSIT diploma & award ceremony
1:30 p.m. The MISM/MSIT ceremony will be at 2pm in the Purnell Center
If you wish to attend, please be seated by 1:45pm
Sunday morning, May 18 CMU commencement ceremony
9:45 a.m. All masters students: Assemble in HBH, dressed in cap/gown/hood
Wear the tassel on the left
Family & friends should go directly to Gesling stadium
Wear comfortable shoes
Do not bring anything valuable – no place to store
Line up behind your program director, who is your marshal
Doctoral students: Assemble in the TV/Rec room, West Wing
10:15 a.m. Marshals will lead you to the stadium for the CMU ceremony
11 a.m. CMU ceremony in Gesling stadium
Sunday afternoon, May 18 – Heinz diploma and award ceremony
1:00 p.m. Arrive at Rodef Shalom, dressed in cap/gown/hood, tassel on left
Corner of Fifth and Morewood
MSPPM students proceed to Cohen Chapel
All other students proceed to Levy Hall
Family & friends go directly to main sanctuary
1:45 p.m. Line up for processional, alphabetical order, by degree
Marshals will lead you into sanctuary
2:00 p.m. Processional enters sanctuary, ceremony begins
3:15 p.m. Reception following ceremony (time approximate)
4:30 p.m. Reception concludes
Return your cap/gown/hood as follows:
If you picked up your regalia from the University Center, return it to
McKenna/Peter/Wright Room, University Center
Sunday, May 18: Noon - 6 p.m.
Monday, May 19: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
After Monday, return it to the University Store, no later than June 2 (or you will lose your deposit)
If you picked up your regalia from Carol Miller in HBH, return it to Carol Miller in HBH on Monday, May 19.
Important Information- Do not arrive at Rodef Shalom prior to 12:30 p.m. – the rooms are in use for other functions prior to that.
- Seating is “first come, first served.” Advise your guests to arrive early and take their seats. No tickets are required.
- Wear comfortable, low-heeled shoes. You’ll do a lot of walking and standing.
- Do not leave any valuables or belongings in Hamburg Hall, Levy Hall or Cohen Chapel. Give them to one of your guests for safekeeping.
