Internship Opportunity Fund

This fund provides stipends to students accepting unpaid or low-paying summer internships in the public or non-profit sector.

Tom Gorman Memorial Fund

In memory of Tom Gorman MS 1985, this fund provides a stipend to a student who accepts an internship in environmental protection, economic development or urban planning.

Stephen M. Lauble Community Fellowship

This fellowship, established in memory of Stephen Lauble MS 1993, encourages students to choose careers that contribute to the neighborhoods, economy and environment of Pittsburgh.

Public Service Career Opportunities Program (PSCOP)

PSCOP awards provide financial assistance to students with high educational loan debt who accept public or non-profit sector jobs after graduation.

“I knew I wanted to work for an international non-governmental organization and focus on HIV/AIDS which is the number one international problem that we can work to fix. When I came to visit the Heinz School, the IOF was mentioned and it was one of the things that brought me here.”

Felicia Brandstrom MS 2005 received an IOF award which enabled her to intern with CARE Guatamal to work on HIV and AIDS prevention. She was also an active volunteer for the IOF helping to organize events that raised funds to support unpaid and low paid internships in the public interest.
