Educational Technology Management Certificate Program
Seventy-two units are required for the completion of the Educational Technology Management Certificate. Most students in the program work full time and enroll in one or two classes per semester. These students complete the certificate requirements in three to six semesters. Classes are held in the evening from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and summer intensive courses in the daytime are also available. The schedule makes it possible for individuals who work full time to earn the certificate without interrupting their careers. Individuals who complete the Certificate program will be eligible for the Pennsylvania Department of Education Instructional Technology Specialist Certification with the addition of a 75 hour practicum.
Students who enroll must hold a Masters degree from an accredited post-secondary institution. Students seeking certification as an Instructional Technology Specialist in Pennsylvania must also either be a certified K-12 teacher or have passed the PRAXIS reading, writing and math exams.
Though the graduate Certificate program in Educational Technology Management is a significant credential, it is not master’s degree. However, units earned from the Certificate program may be applied toward the completion of the Master of Public Management (MPM) degree.
