Mark teaches Intermediate Economic Analysis in the Master of Information Systems Management (MISM) program as well as Financial Analysis to Master of Science in Public Policy and Management (MSPPM) and Master of Arts Management (MAM) students. He also oversees the Heinz School's Master of Medical Management and Master of Science in Health Care Policy and Management programs. Current projects include the development of the Heinz School's Center for Health Management.
Mark has been at the Heinz School since 1993 serving in various administrative capacities as Associate Dean, Senior Associate Dean, Chief Operating Officer and, most recently, Dean. His responsibilities have included management of the operational functions of the Heinz School, program development and management, development and oversight of the School's masters programs in information technology management, and student advising. Prior to coming to Carnegie Mellon, Mark has been a development specialist with the Mon Valley Initiative, assistant to the associate dean and undergraduate economics advisor at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and economist and financial analyst for the United States Department of Energy.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in international economic development from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. He earned a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
