Biography
Yu-Ling Cheng is the Director of Marketing for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, considered to be one of the top five orchestras in the United States. In this role, Yu-Ling provides marketing strategies regarding pricing, marketing research, audience engagement programs and promotions. In addition, Yu-Ling is an adjunct professor of marketing for Carnegie Mellon University’s graduate program at the Heinz School of Public Policy and Management. A recipient of the League of American Orchestra’s Management Fellowship, Yu-Ling has worked with Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival and Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra. She also founded the Symphony Café Series for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Yu-Ling received her MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania; her MM and GD in Violin Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music; and her BS, BA and BM in Economics, Music and Violin Performance from the University of Washington. She also serves on the Community Advisory Board of WQED Multimedia.
