Estimated Cost of Attendance for MSIT Students

These budgets provide you with information about costs associated with attending the program and serve as the basis for determining federal financial aid awards.

All figures are estimates and subject to change. Individual students may find that their costs vary from the estimated budget; changes are considered on a case-by-case basis with appropriate documentation.

Because of the flexibility of enrollment options available to MSIT program students, annual cost of attendance varies per student. The below table identifies the 2016- 2017 tuition schedule based on per-unit enrollment.

Estimated Billable Expenses for MSIT Students

The MSIT program does not have an in-residency or per-semester requirement. Students are encouraged to maintain steady and continuous enrollment. Below are estimates of the expenses directly charged to student accounts for tuition and fees for the most common options our students choose to complete the MSIT degree*. The examples below do not take into account scholarship support from Heinz College or outside funding a student may be eligible to receive. The MSIT program requires 144 units (equivalent to 12 full-semester classes) to graduate.    The per unit tuition rate for the 2016-2017 academic year is $475.

1. Two-Year Program (6 semesters as a part-time on-campus or distance student), completing 2 classes (24 units) per semester:

*Examples are based on Fall 2016 as the first semester of enrollment, assumes $0 scholarship award and a 3% annual increase for tuition). Prices include additional mandatory fees, which are not charged in the summer: 1. Technology Fee: to support IT, software licensing and the Andrew email system. 2. Student Activities Fee (on-campus only): To support student programming and events on campus. Charged to students who enroll for more than 18 units. 3. Transportation Fee (on-campus only): to support students’ unlimited access to the local Port Authority system.
