Even before you arrive at the Heinz College for your first semester, the Career Services Office will have begun working with you to help you develop what we call your “Heinz Resume”. Your resume will evolve during your degree as you add relevant courses, new technology skills, a project section, part-time or full-time internships, your systems synthesis and much more. Chances are you will develop 3-4 resumes depending on how many industries and/or sectors of the economy you consider.
In addition to also developing Cover Letters, honing your Interviewing Skills and practicing how to Negotiate Job Offers, you may need to develop skills in Informational Interviewing or the Case Interview, learn how to Work a Room or refine an Elevator Pitch, polish a Writing Sample or learn how to write KSA Essays.
Throughout the year, workshops will be offered on all of these topics. In the meantime, either stop into Career Services in A002 to request a printed guide or Powerpoint or visit the Career Center’s archive of Success Guides.
