Leadership Development
An important part of your experience at the Heinz School is developing your leadership ability. While we believe that there are some skills of leadership that can be taught, there are other aspects of leadership that are self-directed and must be developed over time. The Heinz School offers an array of opportunities for you to begin understanding your personal capacity for leadership and to put those skills to the test.

Opportunities to Lead
While studying at Carnegie Mellon, there are many opportunities to put your leadership skills to the test by heading up a student club, serving as a student representative or project manager of a systems synthesis project or leading a team for one of the school's competitions.- Heinz School Student Organizations

Each fall, students will receive information on the nomination and election process of student representatives. Reps are selected for each program and class and serve as a liaison between students and Heinz School administration on program and student related issues. - Systems Synthesis

Each year, the Heinz School career services office presents the Deloitte Case Consulting Challenging giving students the opportunity to experience the problems faced by consultants. - Leadership & Social Innovation Competition (info forthcoming)
