MAM Careers

MAM graduates are employed in a variety of professional and management positions that often support the mission and needs of artists. They work in every functional area found in arts, cultural and other organizations that shape and influence the arts community.

Salary levels in arts organizations are typically lower than those in the private sector, especially at the entry level. The value of pursuing a Master of Arts Management degree as opposed to working your way up through the ranks is that you can take on more responsible work more quickly and advance more rapidly than without the degree. Our graduates are often promoted within one to two years of starting their first job. This allows you to achieve the management level position you desire in a shorter time than would otherwise be the case.

Because we recognize the realities of the market for arts organization employees, we provide several sources of funding to help make your career possible. These include the MAM internship fund, the Job Search Assistance Fund and the Public Sector Career Opportunities Program.
