Business Plan Project

The MEIM Program recognizes that classroom instruction can only take you so far; the best learning opportunities are those that require you to apply your skills in the real world. That's the basis of the business plan project -- it will help you solidify the skills and knowledge you gained the classroom.

The business plan project is more beneficial than a thesis because it offers you the chance to apply those skills in a practical situation, addressing the opportunities, challenges and issues the industry faces on a daily basis.

You will create a business plan for a production project, a marketing or distribution process, a new business entity or other related activity -- the choice will depend on your long-term career goals. You will work with an advisor in the development of the project, and you will present the finished plan to a team of industry specialists and academics as if they were your supervisors in a production company or potential investors in a project.

The business plan project is more than an academic exercise; it should be a bridge from your training experience to the industry itself. It could be your first venture in the entertainment world!
