Master of Entertainment Industry Management (MEIM)
Launch your career in show biz with a Master of Entertainment Industry Management (MEIM) degree. Our unique program complements the creative and aesthetic skills you've honed as an undergraduate with a set of management skills to prepare you for a leadership career in the entertainment industry. MEIM offers a rigorous management education based on theory and practice to help accelerate your career path across any entertainment platform.
Many employed in the industry today got there in two steps: they completed their education and then learned the specifics of the industry through an apprenticeship—all before landing that first full-time, paying position. You'll get there sooner with MEIM because we condensed those two steps into one: simultaneous formal training along with hands-on practical experience.
What also distinguishes our degree is the unique blend of Heinz College's renowned rigorous, high-quality academic training with onsite, hands-on training in the film and television industry in Los Angeles.
You'll spend the first year in Pittsburgh taking core management coursework to develop the skills and ways of strategic thinking you need to succeed. You'll be in Los Angeles the following year, expanding and enriching those management skills, theories and techniques through specialized coursework taught by some of the entertainment industry's leading professionals. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to work as full-time apprentice in a studio or production company.
