MEIM Scholarships 

For the following scholarship opportunities, no separate application is necessary. Students who note in the application for admission that they would like to be considered for financial aid will be automatically considered for any applicable scholarship opportunity. Please note, students that are eligible for more than one of our scholarships with a guaranteed minimum will not have the minimum amount awarded in the second scholarship.

MEIM Scholarships

These merit scholarships are awarded to exceptional students joining the MEIM program.

Regional Leaders Scholarships

The Heinz School offers a limited number of Regional Leaders Scholarships to incoming full- and part-time students who have demonstrated a commitment to the Pittsburgh community.

Applicants interested in the Regional Leaders Scholarships are required to have one of their three letters of recommendation written by someone who can testify to the applicant's commitment to and impact on the Pittsburgh community.

Heinz School Peace Corps Scholarships

The Heinz School awards scholarships of at least $6,000 per semester to eligible students entering the MEIM program based on successful completion of a tour as a Peace Corps volunteer. To be considered, applicants should indicate Peace Corps experience on the Application for Admission.

Heinz Americorps Scholarships

The Heinz School awards scholarships of at least $6,000 per semester to eligible students entering the MEIM program that are Americorps alumni. To be considered, applicants should indicate Americorps experience on the Application for Admission.

Heinz School Truman Scholarships

The Heinz School awards scholarships of at least $6,000 per semester to eligible students entering the MEIM program who are finalists in the Harry S. Truman Scholarship competition. To be considered, applicants should indicate their participation in this program on their Application for Admission.

Heinz "Teach for America" Scholarships

The Heinz School will award a minimum of a $6,000 per semester scholarship to eligible students entering the MEIM program that are Teach for America Corps Alumni. To be considered, applicants should indicate Teach for America experience on the Application for Admission. If a student is admitted to one of our degree programs and is accepted into Teach for America during the same year, we will offer a two-year deferral. The deferral will allow the applicant to complete Teach for America before entering grad school.

Fulbright Scholarships

The Heinz School awards scholarships of at least $6,000 per semester to eligible Fulbright Fellows entering the MEIM program. More information on the Fulbright Fellowship program can be found on the program website.

David Lingren Fellowship for Social Innovation

Awarded annually to an incoming student who is dedicated to social innovation.  Awards range from $5,000 to full tuition per semester and are supported in part by a generous donation made by David Lingren (GSIA, ’74).
