Educational Technology Management Concentration 

The Educational Technology Management (ETM) concentration in the MPM program provides graduates with the necessary skills to lead an organization into the future as a Technology Specialist. Courses within the ETM concentration are designed to address the important facets of information technology and management relevant to today’s organizations.  The signature of this concentration is to prepare professionals for leadership in educational and instructional technology whether it is in the classroom, government, the corporate world, or a non-profit organization.  Graduates of the MPM program with an educational technology management concentration are prepared to manage the integration of technology into the day-to-day operations of organizations across sectors. Students who hold a master’s degree may elect the ETM Certificate option which requires 72 units of coursework 

In addition to the core coursework, students who pursue the concentration in Educational Technology Management must successfully complete all of the following courses:

  • 91-812 Budgeting & Management Control in Schools
  • 91-835 Technology, Goals and Assessment
  • 91-840 Integrating Technology into the Curriculum
  • 91-847 Technology, Evaluation and Research
  • 91-850 Technology and Educational Restructuring
  • 91-856 Technology and Staff Development
  • 91-859 Educational Technologies for Managers
  • 91-832 Legal Issues in Information Technology in Public Education
  • 91-873 Management of Computers and Information Systems

Students pursuing a concentration in Educational Technology are encouraged to choose 12 units of elective coursework from following list:

  • 90-782 Multimedia
  • 91-809 Organizational Change
  • 91-839 On-line and Distance Learning
  • 91-888 Principal’s Role in Instructional Technology
  •              Internship**

* Students wishing to pursue the Educational Leadership or the Educational Technology concentration must meet additional requirements and complete a separate MPM application.

**  Students who wish to obtain Pennsylvania Department of Education are required to complete a supervised internship.
