Host an Information Session

We encourage employers to host an information session to increase your organization's visibility and to share pertinent company information with students.

Some information sessions are held in conjunction with on-campus recruiting; however, this is not a requirement. You are welcome to present to our students without scheduling a recruitment date by contacting Osona Steave, Recruitment Coordinator at 412-268-2166 or ods@andrew.cmu.edu.

Students also appreciate the connection with alumni who are present at the information session. Below is additional information that may be helpful:

Location – Meeting space on campus can be very limited; however we will do our utmost to reserve room(s) for your presentation, and you will be notified when the room is confirmed.

Times - The best time to schedule a presentation is between 8:00 and 8:45 a.m. or 12:00 and 1:20 p.m. Although it conflicts with night classes, an alternative is between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m., but be aware that obtaining a room at this time can be difficult.

Catering -If you plan to have food or beverages at your presentation, please contact a caterer of your choice or contact the Recruitment Coordinator for suggestions. Note: If your presentation is scheduled at the University Center, you are required to use On-Campus Dining Services.

Audio Visual – Please let the Recruitment Coordinator know if you need A/V equipment.

Advertising -If you wish to advertise your information session, please feel free to mail or email posters, flyers, etc. to the Recruitment Coordinator who will see that they are prominently displayed.

Employer Literature - Students will access information from your website, but if you want to mail company literature in advance, send it to Heinz Career Services, Carnegie Mellon University, 5000 Forbes Avenue, HBH A004, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Boxes must be clearly labeled with your company name and "Hold for Information Session".

Parking - Visitors may park in the East Campus Garage on Forbes Avenue, or if space is available, behind our building, Hamburg Hall. You must request space from the Recruitment Coordinator who will make the reservation for you.

Parking Violations: If you park illegally, you are responsible for paying the fine.
