GSA organizes social and outreach activities. It also acts as a liaison with the Carnegie Mellon administration and national graduate student organizations to advocate for the needs and interests of graduate students. GSA produces the Graduate Times, a newsletter geared specifically to graduate students.

Black Graduate Student Organization (BGSO)

The Black Graduate Student Organization supports the cultural, academic and professional needs of graduate students of color. BGSO produces a quarterly newsletter and organizes social events, career forums (called Fireside Chats) and networking events. Contact BGSO by email for more information.

Graduate Support Programs Office

The Graduate Support Programs Office provides academic support programs for graduate students university-wide, with particular emphasis on supporting, empowering and retaining graduate students of color and women in the sciences and technical fields.
