CISO Executive Education and Certification Program

CMU Overhead shot

The Chief Information Security Officer Executive (CISO-Executive) Education and Certification Program at Carnegie Mellon University is designed to address the specific demands on today’s cyber leaders. The role of the Chief Information Security Officer has grown in complexity and magnitude. Hacker based activity, cloud based computing, and work-from-anywhere initiatives have only added to the dilemma. New government privacy regulations, social media, and BYOD, have put additional strains on compliance. The CISO role has changed and so should the education and preparation of our cyber-security leaders.

As a part of the Heinz College CIO Institute, the CISO-Executive certification program draws on the unique strengths of Carnegie Mellon University and its federally funded CERT Program at the Software Engineering Institute. Both CMU and CERT are recognized across the globe as leaders in information assurance and security.

The new program is focused on providing essential education and skills for working professionals in the field and those who are seeking to enhance their career growth objectives to have significant operational responsibility for their organization’s information security resources. The CISO-Executive program is geared toward US and international professionals in both the public and private sectors.
