CIOI - Process & Performance Management

CIOs share a common set of circumstances: leading organizational change, promoting improvements to work processes, influencing patterns of organizational decision-making, and aligning the IT plan with the enterprise strategic plan, to name a few. Through facilitated learning and exchanging best practices, participants are better prepared to: plan and negotiate organizational change; use proven quantitative methods and tools for effective decision making under uncertainty; more effectively communicate and interact with customers, colleagues, and suppliers; achieve successful results through negotiating; and implement successful business management strategies dealing with a broad array of business issues including strategy, planning, tactics, marketing and competitive positioning. Participants don’t just learn about these topics, they develop their skills through the use of short case studies, practical exercises, class discussions and lectures. When they return to their jobs they will have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in the program in their professional setting.

Participants will:

  • Learn how to evaluate and influence various models and patterns of organizational structures and interrelationships.
  • Gain additional insight into strategic planning, marketing and competitive positioning.
  • Learn strategies for using quantitative methods to improve their decision making abilities.
  • Learn how to plan and implement an effective negotiation strategy to build coalition and support.
  • Develop their personal and professional communication skills necessary to effect change.

Clinger-Cohen Core Competencies Addressed:

  • Process/Change Management
  • Policy and Organization
  • Leadership/Management
