Biotechnology and Management

The Master of Science in Biotechnology and Management (MSBTM) program at Carnegie Mellon University’s H. John Heinz III College closed its doors at the end of the 2013-14 academic year. This decision was not made easily or lightly, but reflects the challenge of recruiting the quality and volume of students who meet the qualifications of this program. We are pleased that for six years Carnegie Mellon University imparted a world-class education at the intersection of biotechnology, technology, and management.

Moving Forward

Under the leadership of Jim Jordan, Senior Director of the Master of Science in Health Care Policy and Management program, Heinz College will continue to engage in and seek new global opportunities in the areas of biotechnology, education, technology development, business relationships, and learning. It has been our pleasure to contribute to these important university efforts, and we invite you to stay connected with Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College campus and its global locations, research centers, award-winning faculty, inspiring student change-agents, and future policy practitioners. Please contact Jim Jordan at for more information on how to engage with our programs.

Thank You

There simply aren't enough times or enough ways for the MSBTM program team to express our gratitude for your partnership and contributions in helping us prepare the next generation of policy leaders. The successes we have achieved and the work we have accomplished could not have been possible without your support and collaboration. The Heinz College is richer for the connections we have had with our industry partners and with our talented and successful alumni!
