ETM Certificate Curriculum

To earn an Educational Technology Management Certificate, 72 units are required. Since many students in the program work full-time, they usually enroll in one or two classes per semester enabling them to complete the certificate requirements in three to six semesters.

For your convenience, classes are held in the evening from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday. We also offer summer intensive courses in the daytime to accelerate your learning process. If you work full-time, you can earn the certificate without interrupting your career.

If you complete the certificate program, you'll also be eligible to enhance your credentials with the Pennsylvania Department of Education Instructional Technology Specialist Certification by adding a 75-hour practicum.

To enroll, you must hold a master's degree from an accredited post-secondary institution. If you're seeking certification as an Instructional Technology Specialist in Pennsylvania, you must also either be a certified K-12 teacher or have passed the PRAXIS reading, writing and math exams.

Though the Educational Technology Management certificate is a significant credential, it is not a master's degree. However, units earned from the program may be applied toward the completion of the Master of Public Management (MPM) degree at Heinz College.
