HCPM Elective Courses

In addition to the core classes, students can take a variety of electives to help them build their knowledge base in areas that interest them the most. Students can take up to 24 units of elective coursework (12 units of which can be taken as pass/fail). Heinz College has a course catalog of nearly 300 courses for students to choose from. Students can also take courses at other departments and schools at Carnegie Mellon such as the Tepper School of Business. In addition, students are also allowed to take up to 12 units annually of elective courses at nearby universities such as University of Pittsburgh or Chatham University without paying any additional fees or tuition.
