Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College recognizes the unique educational needs of professionals who seek to advance or change careers. The Master of Public Management (MPM) program creates a learning environment that capitalizes on the expertise of professionals and meets their educational needs by offering specialized training in management.
The MPM program was developed by world-renowned faculty and is designed to promote our students' personal and professional development by providing skills, analytical techniques and strength in communication. Bringing together students who have professional experience in a variety of specialties with award-winning faculty creates a truly unique, collaborative environment that fosters communication in a way few other programs can.

If you’re interested in a more accelerated path, and pursue the degree full-time, the curriculum can be completed in as little as 12 months. International and U.S. candidates applying to the full-time track can only begin the program in the fall semester (August start). Full-time students may elect to complete the program in 21 months (4 semesters with a summer break) if they wish. Students who take at least 36 units (3 semester-length courses) per semester are considered full-time MPM students.
