Information Security Graduate Education
Carnegie Mellon has combined its strength in technology, policy and management education and information security research to launch two graduate degree offerings in information security, the Master of Science in Information Security Policy and Management (MSISPM) and the Master of Science in Information Security Technology and Management (MSISTM). These degrees offer comprehensive coverage of the security policy and technical issues facing government and industry today. Carnegie Mellon is uniquely positioned to address the shortage of security professionals created by the fast rate of innovation in the technology sector and the growing complexities associated with securing data and networks.
The Master of Science in Information Security Policy and Management (MSISPM) takes students with an interest in creating security policy or managing information security operations and equips them with the management and information systems practices and analytical methods needed to succeed as security managers and policy analysts in the rapidly changing world of information security. This degree is offered by the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management. Partial scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to highly qualified applicants. The final application deadline is March 15, 2003.
