Dean's Advisory Council Created
The Heinz School announces the formation of the Heinz School Dean's Advisory Council to advise Dean Mark Wessel on strategic initiatives.
"This advisory council compliments our existing alumni and community advisory groups and will help us to build stronger networks and visibility for the school on both national and international fronts," notes Dean Wessel. "This inaugural group is just a start - I look forward to expanding and diversifying the membership of the council and to working with them on initiatives that benefit the entire Heinz School community."
The Council is comprised of representatives from the business and public interest sectors. Members include:
Keith Block MS 84, Executive Vice President, North America, Oracle Corporation, Waltham, MA. Block is responsible for Oracle's North America Sales and Consulting Organizations and serves on Oracle's Executive Management Committee. He oversees a team of more than 7,000 employees with responsibilities that encompass sales and consulting for a diverse group of customers spanning commercial enterprises and government, education and health care.
Marco Delgado MS 90, Partner, Delgado Acosta Braden & Jones, El Paso, TX. Delgado's practice focuses on international transaction planning with an emphasis on U.S. Mexico cross-border trade, investment and energy law.
Jeffrey Ganek MS 75, Chairman and CEO, Neustar Inc, Washington, DC. Ganek is responsible for overall executive management of NeuStar, the leading provider of neutral, third-party clearinghouse services to the communications industry. Ganek has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications, and has held senior management positions in operations, finance, marketing and business development.
John Graham PhD 84, Administrator, Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Office of Management and Budget, Washington, DC. Graham serves President George W. Bush and oversees the coordination of regulatory review, paperwork reduction, statistical policy and information policy in the federal government. Prior to joining the Bush Administration, Graham founded and led the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis from 1990 to 2001.
Chris Heinz, New York, NY. Heinz is an entrepreneur and serves on the boards of several nonprofits. He has worked in the private equity and investment advisory businesses since earning his MBA at the Harvard Business School. His most recent endeavor was working with the John Kerry for President Campaign.
Paul O'Neill, Pittsburgh, PA. O'Neill served as 72nd Secretary of the U.S. Treasury from 2001-2002 and as Chairman and CEO of Alcoa Corporation from 1987 to 1999.
Miles Reidy MS 86, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, Capital One Financial Corporation, McLean, VA. Reidy is responsible for all corporate financial strategy, portfolio management and analytical methodologies for Capital One and has over 15 years experience in the financial services industry.
Ralph Szygenda, Group Vice President, Information Systems, Chief Information Officer, General Motors Corporation, Detroit, MI. Szygenda is responsible for GM's Information Systems & Services organization overseeing the management of all information technology efforts and developing and implementing GM's global digital business strategy.
Jon Williams MS 87, Principal and National Leader, Technology Integration Practice, Deloitte Consulting, Sacramento, CA. Williams leads the operations and strategy for Deloitte's Technology Integration practice which is comprised of more than 1,600 consultants in the United States.
