Alumnus Heads Pittsburgh Fire Department

Mayor Tom Murphy recently named Mike Huss MPM 2003 as the new Chief of the City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire. Chief Huss takes over for Chief Peter Micheli who retired from the Bureau.

Chief Huss is the former Fire Chief of Johnstown, Pennsylvania and Executive Director of the Cambria County Department of Emergency Services. He began his career in public safety as an emergency Medical Technician with the Irwin Fire Department. He became a firefighter, an instructor in the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy, and was named the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Johnstown, as well as numerous other positions within Fire Safety.

Chief Huss is a native of the Pittsburgh region, and received a master's degree in Public Management from the Heinz School in 2003.
