Krishnan Delivers IEEE Keynote

Ramayya Krishnan, William W. and Ruth F. Cooper Professor of Management Science and Information Systems, delivered the keynote address at the IEEE Conference on Electronic Commerce, held in Munich on July 18-23.

Professor Krishnan addressed issues at the intersection of decision technologies and e-commerce.

Professor Krishnan's research interests lie in problems that arise at the interface of technology, business and policy aspects of internet-enabled systems. His current research projects investigate the emergence of virtual communities in peer-to-peer networks, study intermediation in e-markets and the design of policies that take into account the competing needs of promoting data access and protecting privacy.

He is currently the associate editor for Information Systems Research, Operations Research, and the INFORMS Computer Science Technical Section Newsletter; serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Electronic Commerce and the International Journal of Information Technology and Management; and is a contributing editor of Interactive Transactions on Operations Research and Management Science (ITORMS), an INFORMS journal.

Professor Krishnan is the faculty chair of the Master of Information Systems Management (MISM) and Master of Science in Information Security Policy and Management (MSISPM) Programs at Carnegie Mellon.
