Poised for Greatness

Michael Johnson, Associate Professor of Management Science and Urban Affairs, has been featured as a standout scholar in Black Issues in Higher Education.

Professor Johnson applies management science and information technology tools to issues of housing. He recently received a National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development grant, investigating public- sector decision modeling for facility location and service delivery.

Professor Johnson earned his doctorate from Northwestern University in 1997 with a dissertation titled: "An Optimization Model for Location of Subsidized Housing in Metropolitan Areas." He holds masters degrees in operations research from the University of California at Berkeley and in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Morehouse College.
