Arora Comments on Intellectual Property Lawsuit

IBM has filed suit against Amazon, seeking an injunction to stop Amazon from using five patents filed by IBM in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Ashish Arora, Professor of Economics and Public Policy, notes "It's helpful to get good cases for courts to decide on, and this could be one of them" in BusinessWeek.

Arora's research focuses on the economics of technology and technical change. His research interests include the study of technology intensive industries such as software, biotechnology and chemicals, the role of patents and licensing in promoting technology startups, and the economics of information technology.
