Padman and Krishnan Address Asia-Pacific E-Government Workshop
Rema Padman, Professor of Management Science & Healthcare Informatics, and Ramayya Krishnan, William W. and Ruth F. Cooper Professor of Management Science and Information Systems, delivered keynote addresses at the Asia-Pacific E-Government Workshop (APEGW2006) held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in June of 2006.
During their summer trip to Asia to conduct research, Krishnan and Padman visited the School of Information Systems at Singapore Management University, Beijing University, Tsinghua University and several agencies and firms. Krishnan was also an invited lecturer at the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute for Automation, where he discussed software diversity and risk management.
APEGW2006 provides a forum for researchers and practitioners from the Asia-Pacific area to exchange their latest research ideas and industrial experience in e-Government services and the underlying technology and infrastructure to support these applications.
Padman’s keynote addressed the issues of chronic disease management for public health. Her research examines problems at the interface of healthcare, information technology and management science, particularly healthcare information systems, operational planning and management, and data mining and decision support methods.
Krishnan’s keynote focused on privacy and e-government. His research interests lie in problems that arise at the interface of technology, business and policy aspects of internet-enabled systems.
