Blumstein To Receive 2007 Stockholm Prize in Criminology
The 2007 Stockholm Prize in Criminology will be awarded to Alfred Blumstein and Terrie E. Moffitt for their discoveries about the development of criminal behavior over the life-course of individuals.
Blumstein is the J. Erik Jonsson University Professor of Urban Systems and Operations Research and former Dean of the Heinz School.
Blumstein’s analyses of the variations in the frequency of offending in careers of active criminals in US jurisdictions have had a global influence on justice policies and practices, as well as on the rapid increase in the influence of developmental and life-course criminology.
The prize will be awarded on June 5th, 2007, during the international Stockholm Criminology Symposium.
