Duncan Delivers Keynote
George Duncan, Heinz School Professor of Statistics, delivered the keynote address "Statistical confidentiality: What does it mean for journalists use of public use databases?" to Ver 1.o. in Santa Fe , New Mexico on April 9. Sponsored by the Institute for Analytic Journalism, Ver 1.0 was the inaugural workshop of journalists, social scientists and computer scientists interested in verification of data in public records databases.
Duncan's research centers on information technology and social
accountability. Areas of interest include privacy and information issues, Bayesian decision making, conflict resolution through mediation and Bayesian forecasting.
